Certificate of Title
A Certificate of Title is a legal document which identifies the owner and any encumbrances or easements associated with a particular parcel of land. Each time ownership of a property changes, the Certificate of Title is amended to reflect new ownership.
New residential properties in South Australia are usually Torrens titled or Community titled. The main difference between the two is that Community titled properties have common areas (such as shared driveways, gardens or lifts) which are owners are required to financially contribute towards through a community corporation and follow by-laws.
